Does anyone know how to create a crown molding across the top of cabinets and extending across a mass model object. In otherwords the crown will follow a segmented line at the top of cabinets and solid geometry. I have read the family way to do it but there has to be a better way. I am using Revit 2010
I would like to be able to use a profile in a similar fashion as a wall sweep and attach it to an object I want, is this possible?
Thanks,
Chris

Youre using a family for it. Whether its an "in-place" family or a "Component family" i suppose is up to you, but im not sure what *better way* youre looking for?
Either make a face based / line based component, or go Component-In Place and make a sewep along the edge of the cabinets.

In-place sweep in that situation, for sure. Simply go to a 3D view where you can see the tops of the cabinets, start an in-place generic model (or casework if you want), start the sweep, then pick the edges of the cabinets in 3D to create a continuous path. Then start the profile and pick your loaded crown molding profile. Finish the sweep, give it a material, and render away! :)

Thanks....I realized that I was trying to use the create mass tool. Helps to use the right commands.
Thanks again.
