Hi all,

Is there any way to get the end of an angled beam to cut flush against the face of a column?

I guess it could be done with a void, but is there a proper parameter or tool anywhere?

Cheers : )

You'd probably have to add an angled void cut locked to a reference line with an angle instance parameter in the beam family itself.

You could simply cut the beam on a (vertical) Reference Plane.

Yea I was thinking of the 'build it in the family' option... Too much like hard work though!

Can't access Revit atm but I'll give the ref plane idea a go - Do you mean using the Cut Geometry tool?

yes, 'cut geometry' should work for steel and precast concrete beams.

It won't even let me select the beam as 'Geometry'...

Not sure I've ever seen a ref plane used in this way, can you show an example?

How can I get a void to cut a beam in Project?

I've got voids to cut model geometry before... But it won't let me select the beam when using 'cut geometry' in the in place void creation...

You use the opening tool.
