Thank you, Thank you! I had to stop using Revit 7.0 and revert back to 6.1 because of the slow down issues. I'm looking forward to finally using 7.0

If we are already using 7, do we need to download all of the content as well? Can we skip that part? TIA

You should be able to safely skip that part, .... unless the developers have taken the opportunity to update some content, but I would doubt that.

I did fix 2 peices of content which I can post here. I fixed the Mass Tag.rfa as per Matt's tagging scheme and the Single-Glass2.rfa door it had a few issues of it's own. I have attached both Imperial and Metric versions.

Thanks Steven,

That certainly beats downloading the entire content again...

So, do we just hit the .exe a load over top of the old one or must we uninstall?

And where do the .ffa's go?

The new build. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. So much better.

You will be prompted to overwrite the existing 7.0 build. You could also check the 6.1 copy to be uninstalled, but that's not a good idea yet.

The mass tag goes in the annotation family and the single glass goes in the door family.
And where do the .ffa's go?

Steven Campbell

And where do the .ffa's go?The default install locations for content is:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\Revit 7.0\Imperial Library
for imperial and
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\Revit 7.0\Metric Library
for metric.

The Mass Tag.rfa is located under the \Annotations directory and Single-Glass2.rfa goes under the \Door directory.

I did as instructed here but the program is unable to find the default template.

I had the same problem. Go to settings & change the default template location. The new build seems to have got shipped, with the directory level set one level short.

Is anybody having licensing issues with this new build?

I haven't had to do much as far as entering my contract number for these new builds, but this one is behaving differently. When I try to activate it, the server doesn't recognize my contract number.

Autodesk hasn't been much help (yet). A call to the licensing department led to a call to the business service center which led to a call to revit technical support (which was closed by the time I got through the phone tree).

I'm sure it'll get resolved in the next 39 days. I just wondered if anyone else was having problems or just me!

nobody has a license for Revit 7.0, because they don't exist, yet. You will receive one with your physical CD shipment in 39 days or less.;)

The new Version is much better in terms of context menu slow downs etc.

It appears their may be a problem with the Revit PDF writer, i have been experiencing some corrupt text.

Also, when using the revit to pdf print driver, sometimes parts of furniture do not appears in 2d plan views. Partial cuts of tables are missing (1/2 circle shown 1/2 circle missing) or partial chairs or complete chairs missing.

Is their a known cause and fix for this?

Try setting the Graphic True Type Fonts to download as softfont and under postscript options, use Outline for the True Type Font download.

That may fix the text issue.

Usually this is a memory problem with the printer. Can you set the printer to use the computer's memory ?

We be activated, mateys! The new serials will likely be the same as your old ones. Networked people on subscription should be able to do the same thing.

I understood the white filled regions were to revert back to there 6.1 selves... This still isn't the case. The filled region still covers other views when on a sheet. We didn't have this problem with 6.1? Just a little annoying is all...

Hmmmm, .. thats right, although they didn't say next build, they just said - soon.

However, the issues that were listed as being addressed for build 13 included - " Filled region issues - ' white ' regions no longer obscure objects. ", which I took to mean it had been fixed.

Mr. Spot,

Could you explain the problem. I wanted to check it out. Thanks.

Just wondering if anybody else got the codes and was able to activate R7?

Mr. Spot,

I went back & found your original thread, so I understand the issue.

Thanks,

What was fixed is that opaque filled regions with no pattern hide things again.

I just did the code activation route as posted above by Wes & it worked like a charm. I'm licensed!

We had one machine that reverted to a 7 day trial period. Subscription support sent us an authorizaton code that put us back on a 42 day trial (the period remaining in the trial before it jumped to 7). It wasn't a full version authorization code that was received. I can post the support data if you like....

Fedor,

What's different in R7.0 is that the filled region, be it opaque or transparent, overlays titleblocks. That can require fooling around with the drawing in order to prevent obscuring the titleblock, and then refooling around with the drawing should you place it on another sheet. I assume having filled regions overlay/obscure titleblocks was not intended.

Geof Narlee.

Geof, that's a separate issue. I don't know if it will be addressed in 7.0, but if you did report it to client support, the appropriate developers (not me ;) ) are aware of it.

Fedor,

What we are hoping to get is this...

We are looking into restoring 6.1 behavior, so don't update things unless you have to.In relation to THIS THREAD (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=10302&highlight=white+fill).
