I have a situation where we have a 1 storey and 2 storey building next to each other.
To display the roof of the first floor we have traced, using an underlay of the level over, the eaves line using the linework tool. No problems there

The issue is when we put in a plan region to display the ridge and roof lines for the roof of the single storey building, the first floor roof disappears?

one thing to note is the cut plane of the plan region is higher that the eaves line of the first floor roof. Maybe this is causing some issues but it has to be like that to display correctly. If i pull the plan region far away from the second storey roof, say 15metres, it reappears.

I've attached a pdf of both cases

can anyone help?

Would have to see your actual model to be sure but I think you are experiencing an annoying problem with plan regions generally. Content that the plan region boundary crosses is considered within the region no matter where the boundary is drawn. The simplest example is a furniture plan with a plan region at a second floor atrium showing the first floor below. If a sofa or table is positioned half under the second floor and half at the open atrium, you see the whole piece of furniture.

The most problematic situation we face is trying to get multi-level parking ramps with stalls to make any sense. It is next to impossible to avoid splitting a stall and all the views end up looking sloppy or requiring a bunch of non-Revit filled region drafting solutions.

Unfortunately, the solutions are all work-arounds that are not efficient or effective.

Or, I might be misinterpreting your question entirely...

thanks. with a little more investigation it looks like your answer might be correct.

wow. that's an unfortunate bug.

I'm having the same issue with lower-floor ceilings showing up randomly on upper floor plans due to exterior plan regions drawn to show roofs below. I thought I was losing it, glad to see I'm not nuts.

Must be some piece of the ceiling crossing over the plan region, causing it to show up THROUGH the floor slab. Makes all kinds of sense why you would want that to happen.

Love how all this starts to show up the day before deadlines.
