Does anybody know of a freeware construction calculator for the desktop?

Can you please expand a little more, what exactly do you mean by "construction calculator" ?

I take it that Windows Calculator in Scientific mode is not adequate, nor AutoCD's built in Calculator (CAL).

I have a couple of freeware ones i could email you. They do unit conversions mostly.
