Program shuts down when opening a file

2010 runs perfect until I need to open a file then it simply shuts down, any clue's??

I seem to remember a few posts on this early on in the release of 2010. If I remember correctly, most were either lack of resources (XP 1 gig of ram etc) or video card issues (NVidia seemed to have a few more problems than ATI)
