Hi everyone,

I have a good one for you:
Using plain Autocad 2008 with updates. We have a drawing with multiple floor set in it, just regular stuff but lot's of lines I admit. We have lines that don't want to print. BUT!! They are lines on the same layers, that I just copied from an appearing line. They show in paper space but not in plot preview. Not an annotation problem, not a layer printing problem, and not a .ctb problem. Now what?.... I have no clue what it could be. Can anyone help plz.

Ty!

Error maybe? Try an Audit.

When you say multiple floor ... 3D? Or is it simply multiple 2d layouts?

If you're using a .ctb file for plotting - are all entity colours set to "bylayer"?

Try closing the drawing, and then using the RECOVER command.

They are just 2D plans, it was just to mention that the file was a bit loaded. The problem occurs on a Quad core cpu, a big machine, and on my computer, Dual core, 3go ram... it works just fine. We tried to reboot, recover the drawing... everything!

We might have come up with a solution. We didnt solve anything but we think it's due to a compatibility problem 2008 vs 2010. We have some computers with 2010 that might have opened these files and add some information that 2008 can't understand. The other solution I came up with is a information limit maximum. I know that 2010 can manage more information that 2008 and maybe when opening in 2010 pushed the limit and we been able to add information to the drawing that 2008 couldn't manage. What do you think?

Neither of those suggestions sounds likely to cause the problem as originally stated. :-(
The smaller size limits apply when saving to 2007 or earlier format and not to plotting (AFAIK).

When we ran into vanishing lines during printing it turned out to be a printer driver problem.

Hi!

I have been in a similar situation recently. We run AutoCAD 2009 and 2010 in our office.
I had drawing were some information would show up and other would not. But I open the
drawing on someone else in the office and everything showed up. Took me the longest
time to resolve....I end up scrapping my profile and import another one from a computer
that did not have that problem and voila! I was back on track. I don't know of it is the same
problem but it is worth a shot....Hope it help!
