Install error 1603

Hi all,

I've tried everything to try and remedy this - but it just will not fix.

When I try and install 3ds max design 2010 it just fails at the same point every time.

The 'status bar' is at the 'writing system registry values' point, and the install stops and tells me that nothing was installed.

The install log file just notes error 1603.

I've done all the standard 'fixes' for this - I am not installing to an encrypted or off limits file - the SYSTEM account (and mine) have full rights to everything - I have deleted all old files relating to 3ds max - there are no 3ds max entries in the registry (apart from random keys which I guess are part of other programs) - I've had verbose log files analized with the WiLogUtl application - all sorts of other things I've forgotten...

Has anyone else experienced this?

Does anyone know how to find out what the problem is?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As ever those windows pages were useless.

I managed to fix this error by un-ticking the 'Install satelite network rendering' part of the 3ds max install.
