I am new to Revit, we are engineers, and I have drawn a simple deck to initiate the learning process. Problem is when plotting the line weights are not as they should be, existing construction shows on screen as light grey and plots dark while new construction phase shows dark on screen and plots light grey. My imported title block plots very homogeneous and light/thin. the rest plots very light for the most part, arrows etc except text and lumber cross sections??
Also is there any structural hardware families out there? like the one Simpson has for auto cad??

As to the first part of the question, have you looked at Object Styles(under Settings)? This is where you can tweak you line weights. For existing construction you can look at a couple of things, one being printer/plotter settings as to whether it's printing greyscale or black/white, the other would be to go to Phases (under Settings) and change the Graphic Override for existing phase.
As for more structural components, there a few other structural engineers here that may be able to help you.
