Tick Marks

Does anybody know how to change the default tick mark from say Diagonal 3mm to a non-default tick mark? I'm using the diagonal tick mark with a line weight of 6, but I don't like the length of it. I want to reduce it to 2mm.

Any constructive comments will always be welcome.
