Since I can't search for "3D" anything in the forums (stupid limit on character length), can anyone help me with 3D dimensions?

I need to create 3D models of historic terra cotta pieces that need to be replaced so I can send them to the manufacturer. I will need to dimension height, width, and depth but it looks like Revit only dimensions parallel to the work plane, not in 3D. Is there a way around this or am I doing something wrong?

Hey there,
Merely select a work plane first. Then dimension those. Set a new work plane and continue until you have them all.
Good luck

Ok Steve, I have to ask - what kind of work does a "rock-n-roll architect" do? :)

Laughing.....
That nick was hung on me by Steve Stafford, who is also a player.
I am a "normal" commercial Architect.
You can see what I do on my web site: www.scshell.com
(Once you see my photo, you'll understand the nick.)

Yes--I'm afraid I'm guilty as charged, and even worse, I'm a DRUMMER!

That would be me, in the avatar picture, on the drum riser.

cheers.........

Nice! I love to see that architects don't always fit the mold! I like to dabble in the drums myself but it's more the Rock Band variety than the real thing ;)

Rock on guys!
