Hello all.

We hired an acoustical engineer to design the inside of a band room and attached is the configuration we received in .dwg format. I brought it into SketchUp for viewing. Their dimensions are a bit off from our Revit model so importing the .dwg is not an option. We cannot modify the corridors etc. surrounding the room.

Rather than fake it in 2d just to get the CD's out the door I would like to model it but I am having difficulty even deciding how to start. In the attached image the ceiling and back wall have been removed so you can see what is going on. The removed wall is flat as is the one to the right. The others have an 11" difference in depth, angling and splaying out. These will be built out of gyp. bd. on metal studs.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Click on component (drop down) Component-In Place. If you are familiar with the *old* Massing tools, select Generic Model catagory. If youre more of a free former, use Mass (push pull style tools). Flesh out the "faces" of the walls, to accurate dimensions.

Then under Wall (drop down), there is a Wall By Face option. Its the only method for non-vertical walls.

Then to update them, you update the Mass/Generic Model (so DONT delete it), and then you use the Related hosts button in the option bar to update everything, or you select walls individually and hit Update to face.

Beware: Ceilings cannot be By Face, so if you need a ceiling sloping in more than one direction, use a Roof, or model the ceiling in place as well (and then leave it in place).

Looks fun. :)

Thank you for the advice. I am out of the office until Monday so I will give it a go then.
The ceiling is not sloped so no worries there. And I forgot to mention this is being done in Revit 2009 not 2010.
