Hello,

I'm quite new to Revit and since now this forum has been a tremendous help regarding my experience with this software. As I'm still quite new to it i do have some questions about how you can make different things in it.So thank you in advance for taking time and replying and also please pe as detailed as possible since i'm still new to revit, thank you.

Here are my questions:
1.Angled Walls/columns:I've been trying to create some angled walls in the past and I simply couldn't manage to make it work. What i did is I created a basic wall and then i've selected Edit Profile after that i've picked the top line of the wall and i couldn't move it horizontally only vertically so all i could do was create a taller/bigger wall.So what am i doing wrong?

2.Rendering with 3dsMax:Let's say i want to create a photo realistic rendering by importing the model in 3ds Max,should I apply the materials Revit and then render it in 3Ds Max or should i import the model and apply materials in 3ds max?also what format should i import it?i've used .dwg,is it ok?

3.Construction Details:I was wondering how can you create construction details in Revit, for example to show how the curtain glass wall is connected to the wall?or the wall to the roof?etc

3.Extruding:Let's say i want to extrude a form out of the wall, let's say a + sign how can i do that?I think if i create a mass in form of a the + sign and then intersect it with the wall i might achieve the effect i want, however this is a relatively long process if it works is there a faster way?

4.Monumental Stairs:How can I create monumental stairs like the ones at Universitys,Court house,Libraries?

5.Round shaped corners:I basically want to create something like this:http://freshome.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/minimalist-house3.jpg but instead of the sharp bottom left corner i want it to be round?how can it be done?

6.Pergola:How can it be done in revit?

For rendering with 3DS Max and many other things you can do such as animations, Daylight studies, and artificial lighting analysis use the .FBX format export from Revit. Import the exported file (.FBX) in to max. I have found that applying the materials in Revit works, but sometimes you may need to do some tweaking in Max later. ProMaterials, which come in from Revit are supposed to be physically accurate for analysis purpouses in 3DS max DESIGN (not the standard version) but sometimes the color values are way out of wack and need to be toned down. Keep all of your folders together that come with the .FBX export file. You will get textures and background files in a folder right next to the exported file. That is where Max is going to look for those imported materials.

Good LUCK!
