Anyone had any experience with this product or company? It looks like a integrated quantity take off and estimating program that can export to the industry standard estimating formats.

(advance to 1:40 on playback for Revit interface portion)

Looks like they have developed "DesignEst Pro" http://www.winest.com/products/add-ons/designestpro.aspx as an extension within Revit since at least RAC2009.

I have no details on costs but there is an upcoming Webinar on Nov. 19th

Trying to find a good QTO / estimating application that works within Revit for basic project costing during the design development phase.

Hi there,

WinEst has been around a while, and they're definitely a well-established software firm. Personally I've never used or seen their products so I can't really comment intelligently on them.

I recommend you take a look at Autodesk QTO which works great with Revit. There are a bunch of training videos at http://tinyurl.com/qto-vids

QTO is Revit-aware and helps you extract quantities automatically from Revit-published DWF files. It's quite powerful and flexible. Check it out!

I am looking for a comparison between DesignEst Pro and Quantity Takeoff. Any information would be appreciated. We are probably going to purchase Quantity Takeoff but our estimator uses WinEst as his core estimating software. I just want to be QTO is the best option.
