material takeoff for wall sweep

just want to confirm it before using more complicated method.
1) if embedded into wall, then cannot material takeoff and cannot schedule
2) if hosted on wall, then cannot material takeoff but can schedule w/ only Length info useful for material area calculation, etc.,
any workaround if BQ everything within wall which includes sweep, maybe inplace family instead of sweep?

I have an issue in with support on this and other sub-category objects that do not schedule in a material takeoff, like roof soffits. So far no resposne, but I can confirm it is a major headache. It needs fixing immediately, otherwise material takeoffs are next to useless for us unless we want to model everything in-place, or use incorrect category objects to model.

thanks DW for your confirmation.
seems all profile based Revit objects won't do material takeoff, maybe it's difficult to fix it by factory due to the way of computer coding stuff (?), such a pity for the important Revit objects like wall, etc.
same as subcategory, looks so powerful and potential yet short of ...
well, hope (or just a wish) factory can do much better and faster, or at least open up more API stuff for user to fix it.

This has been a known issue for a very long time.

I believe it has been added to the Wishlist. I agree--this is a pretty major
missing part of "BIM" by the Factory.
