Area Fill in 3D?

So I notice that Areas and Area Color Fill and Area Interior Fill are all available as a category in a 3D view. Having an Area Plan in a project, I wish to see the areas and their fills in a 3D isometric view, for clarity. However, enabling these categories doesn't do anything.

Is there a way to make Area Color Fills show in a 3D view?
