Hello all,
It's my first post here, so I hope this will not be a stupid question...

I've been searching all over the forum, but could not find a solution to my problem which is really getting in my nerves right now! I hope someone can help me.

When I model my project in Revit Structure there is no problem with duplicating a floor plan type to make a new one and to get more organization of plans in my project browser. BUT, when I go and model in Revit Architecture I cannot do this!?! I'm trying the linking method of two models, so I copy/monitored the level plans from structural model and then produce floor plans from there... I thought that's the problem, but then I tried to make a new project with my project template and the same problem occurs.
When I go to View Properties and then Edit Type the next step of Duplicate is just simply grayed-out!

What I'm doing wrong?

Thanks and cheers from Slovenia,

Milos

Hi Milos,

no, not a stupid question. Just not something I have ever thought about. We architects tend to be of the opinion that one kind of floor plan - ours - is enough. :)

What you can do to get more structure (no pun intended ;) ) into the browser: you can use the filter and sort option (right click on Views in the project browser and select Properties...) to group and sort your views.

And if you really wanted, you could add a project parameter to your views and sort through that.

@oliver:
Thanks for the replay. So like I thought - it's a Revit Architecture problem (which is a bit of a downer in my opinion....). In Revit Structure you're able to do this, which is great, as you can categorize your floor plans like you want them - working plans, steel, concrete plans, etc. What I can't understand is that you can duplicate Type for elevations and sections, but not for floor plans...
Ok, I'll try the trick with filtering, but it already just doesn't "smell" right...
thx
