Electrical symbols grayed out

I have copied a floor plan view to make a electrical plan and set the model to view as underlay but now when I place electrical symbols they are grayed out, this did not occur in 6.1, what up with that?

If the electrical symbols are model families they will display as underlay in both 6.1 and 7.0.

If they are annotation symbols, they will display in glorious black and white.

That is not the case, I have tested this in both 6.1 & 7.0 if you set the model to display as underlay in 7.0 then insert a duplex outlet for example, it will show grayed out, not so in 6.1, I just verified it, try it yourself

I did test it in 6.1 and 7.0 before I posted.

That is not the case, I have tested this in both 6.1 & 7.0 if you set the model to display as underlay in 7.0 then insert a duplex outlet for example, it will show grayed out, not so in 6.1, I just verified it, try it yourself

OK, I rechecked using that family ( M Duplex Outlet ) and now I can see that it is different in 7.0 compared to 6.1.

I'll have to look at the earlier family I used to see what caused it to display differently.
