View Full Version : Revit, 3dsmaxdesign and no rpc

Having reinstalled Revit 2010 and 3dsmaxdesign2010 on Windows 7 64 bit, rpc content doesn't seem to come over any more via fbx (I'm fairly sure it used to under Vista 64 but I've only got round to using 3dsmaxdesign recently).

I have an active ACM licence for the 3dsmax plugin, I've downloaded the plug-in demo (which I thought was meant to be with 3dsmax?) but it looks to me as though it installs in a 3dsmax folder in program files rather than 3dsmaxdesign.

Anyway, Revit exports still do not seem to contain any rpc.

I'm waiting for a reply from Archvision but would any of the experienced Revit/3dsmax users understand what I'm doing wrong please - or indeed does the Archvision plugin work with 3dsmaxdesign?

Thanks.

Make sure you installed the RPC plugin for MAX 2010 - I think it's in the "tools" section of the install dialog, but I might be wrong.

Ours comes over, but we had to have the Plugin installed for 3DSmax, as was mentioned. But we use Revit 2010, and Max Design 2010, and the RPC all comes over.

Thanks both,

you pointed me in the right direction - rerunning the Installation from the DVD offers a Tools install option.

All works perfectly now :)
