I get this error when plotting, renaming sheets in the sheetset manager and just opening drawings. This only seems to happen on a few drawings any clues on how to fix this?

Try a quick AUDIT or RECOVER on the drawings in question to see if that fixes it. That's the first step.

Then i would make use of the included Autodesk support for this problem. Have you opened a ticket with them?

Update on the Error,
I fixed it finally by making sure all layout tabs had a plot device attached to it and the network drive that housed the pc3 files was viewable by all users. This fixed the problem, however users had to go through each drawing that had the error and fix it manually, so it is a big time eater.
Thanks for all your comments.
