I've set up a plan view for marketing purposes and have used Hide Isolate to take a roof off, a railing, etc. Looks fine in the view, but does retain the Hide/Isolate settings when plotted. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hide/Isolate is simply a productivity tool. It allows you to turn off some elements while working on a view in order to better see what you are looking at. It does not save, print or export. You want to use Visibility/Graphics settings to turn off the items you do not want shown on the printout.

Little clarification--does not retain Hide Isolate settings when plotted

Greg,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I cannot hide/isolate single items using the visibility settings, only categories.
My specific issue is two perpendicular wings of a house, each with different floor levels because of a sloping site. When I cut the second floor plan, it cuts through the roof of the lower volume--visually confusing. So, I want to turn off the roof (but not the roofs of the 1st story) and the ceilings that are cut through.
Any suggestions?

There are a number of ways.
1. Worksets: Put the roof in a workset and turn off that workset.
2. Phases: same deal.
3. Make a new subcategory of the roof category and turn off its visibality.
Best bet IMHO is 1.
And yes, you are correct, hide isoslate only turns off major categories.

Be sure you understand the ramifications before you start in with worksets. I.e. experience helps in that regard.

You can also use the linework tool and make the roof lines invisible. This is view specific and will plot as displayed on the screen.
