What is the purpose of the "Primary Command" entry that is created when you create a drop-down in a ribbon panel? TIA

The primary command is the command that is shown by default when you first start.
think of the old-fashioned OSNAP toolbar, as a flyout. it's alwasy the first option, until you pick a new option, then that one stays until another is chosen, or the workspace is reloaded.

Yes, I was looking at it some more today, and your explanation finally came to me...

So is that tiny arrow supposed to be pointed at the command directly under it.
Why wouldn't the primary command just be the one at the top of the list anyway..
I guess they thought we needed a reminder.

BTW: The CUI is light years ahead of it's 2006 initial release version, but on the other hand it's still SO SLOW. It takes 30 seconds for me to open the CUI, change the menu I want to edit, navigate down to the proper place in the Ribbon (15 sec), and then as soon as I click on a Row or Drop Down or Tool, it's another 15 second wait...

Ah... the days of opening the MNU file in an ASCII editor with no wait times....

I forgot -- THANKS for the reply...

i tmight go a little faster if you go to the windows setting and disable menu/drop down animation. i find that helps me quite a bit. i also turn off the slide out effects on drop downs, so windows does them faster

Good idea, but I already have all of that disabled.
I would hate to see how slow it is with it all enabled!
Thanks.
