Masking Regions in Detail callout

I'm trying to place a masking region over part of a detail callout, but it doesn't mask the geometry below. I've check the arrangement order and its definitely placed to the front.

Any suggestions?

Is there a transparency setting for the region?

If there is, I can't find it. As far as I was aware, masking dont have any element properties and I can't see anything in the view properties which relates to regions.

Could also be a work plane issue?

Make sure the masking region is set on the coorect work plane.

Yep, everything is on the same workplane.

When I create a masking region in the original section view it works fine - I only have trouble when I try to create one in a detail callout view of a part of that section.

What is it that you're trying to mask? Masking regions don't obscure detail lines, tags, keys and symbols.
