At the end of the walls, click on the blue dot, right click and select "disallow join".

Then, use the align command to line up the end of the walls.

does that help?

cheers

You can also use the "Edit Wall Joins" tool. You select the intersection of walls and can then step through "Next" and "Previous" possibilities of how the walls may join. This doesn't always give you exactly what you want, especially where more that two walls are involved.
In some cases I've had to do as Cliff suggested and disallow the joins, pull the ends of the walls back away from each other, allow joins on both walls, and then Trim them back together.

None of these methods work because they leave a line at the join between the two walls. See attached. How do we get the walls to clean up correctly?

Is the thicker wall load bearing masonry? if so, the "bottom" finish layer on the lower masonry wall should be inside of core, which should fix the problem.

After disallowing the join on the masonry only wall try using the Join Geometry tool. Click the masonry only wall first, then the compound wall second.

Would anyone be able to post a Revit example, as I cannot get the suggestions to work.

How about this? Cavity walls are tough - the air space and insulation are set as structure to let the wall clean up properly at t intersections. If someone has a solution where the cavity isn't priority 1 I'd like to see it.

Works fine for me.

1. Click the Wall
2. On the end of the wall which you dont want to join (100p Block wall) there is a blue dot, right click the blue dot and then click Disallow Join
3. Now drag the wall to the outside face of the Masonry in the cavity wall.
4. Use Join Geometry to get rid of the line. Remember to pick the 100p Block wall first and then pick the Cavity second (like i said in above post)

Bregnier – Yep this works in this particular instance, although you’re right, in would be interesting to see a solution that deals with the cavity under different conditions.

Harrisbrett – I’m familiar with this method, but I can’t seem to get it to work in this instance.

I just did it within your file, so you must be doing something wrong.
