Linked Model - V/G Filter?

Hi All,

Is it possible to apply a V/G Filter on a linked RVT model?... Not phase filter, not Selection filter by category.

I'm referring to the filter tab which is under the Visibility Graphics dialog box.

Yes, but you have to do it with a kludgy workaround. A filter wont populate through the link, but:

You can use Custom instead of By Host view in VG, and select a view for By Linked View in the Linked File which has the filter on it, and it will show the filter correctly.

Also, if you put it on custom, you dont have to show EVERYTHING from the Linked view, so you can use it to apply general filters.

Also interesting: If you create a section ANYWHERE in the linked model and apply the filter to it, you can set ANY section in the parent view to that Custom setting (with that view selected) and it will work, regardless of the sections orientation.

So just send your filters to the consultants and ask them to make one of each type of view with the appropriate filter for you.
