Hi can i model a space truss in revit?
here is my trial:
in the family template curtain panel pattern based i modeled the 3d truss(hard but doable)
then created my mass, divide the surface and select the early created family ( it is distorted)
the elements created outside the already set working plan need constraining because when they are loaded on the nurb revit can't resolve their position and place hence they are distorted
i've attached the family which i created if anyone could help
thanks

I looked at your family and I am a little confused about the geometry. I am sure there are many different geometries for space frames, but the typical is based on a square. The intersection of the members in the top plane of the space frame are shifted by half a bay in the x and y direction. I created this space frame as a generic model, but I think you could apply the concept of it to t a curtainwall panel if you like. I created this by drawing a square base and then formed a pyramid of reference lines that connect to a point centered over the base. The height and width are parametric.

check out http://buildz.blogspot.com/ I believe that he had a tutorial on something similar a few months ago. Not exactly what you need, but the priciples apply.

beware though that the trusses shown on buildz.blogspot.com are part of a curtain panel family. So they won't schedule as trusses or import in other analyses programs. You can also generate space trusses in Revit from a 3d Autocad wireframe ( http://www.technology4design.com/ ) .

Thanks guys you've been very helpfull
i've tryed the generic model method in revit but this method is not efficient in nurb faces but the technology4design method is most helpfull in non uniform surfaces
