I created a complex topo/site plan as an external file to a large
home I'm designing. When combined, the model bogged my
old bag of chips...so I snapped off the site plan and worked on them seperately.

All is well in the individual drawing files, but when I link the site to the
structural model, view prop's I have turned off in the site model are magically back on. Specifically, level markers turn on where I dont want
(in elevation), and certain filled regions disapear that I had drawn.
It seems like Revit is importing a non-detailed elevation view of my site plan, and is not respecting the settings I saved before linking the two.
My hurt heads and my confusion is all mixed-up....

Any comments would help greatly.

Thanks as always,
Ouch

I may not be understanding your post correctly, but here goes.

It doesn't matter what view properties you had set in the external file, once its linked, go to view visability > Linked RVT files tab >click the + sign next to the file name for a drop down menu and turn off levels or whatever there.

Filled regions are view specific and do not import with the linked file, unfortunately.

I think you understood my confusion and answered my headache perfectly

Sometimes at the end of a long day, this old brain starts protesting and just won't cooperate.

I remember that now, its as easy as turning off a level marker (argh).

Thanks beegee
