can any1 tell me how 2 cover steel at internal walls or just internal part of the building?

You mean like a furring wall to cover a structural column? Just create a furring wall type with finish on one side only, or create an architectural column to cover your structural column. I would opt for the former option myself.

Curious, what do "stanchions" have to do with your question?

I'm not sure the original post is clear.

The OP is describing a steel stanchion (column) which a wall is built into. It is a common detail to see the front web of the stanchion 'sticking out' beyond the face of the wall (see attached).

How do we deal with this in Revit?

As I said, build a furring wall type, such as a wall with metal studs and sheetrock on one side only, to go around that part of the column. It creates sort of a "pilaster" along the wall. Is this what you're after?

I suppose it is, I've just never heard the term used that way. I've only heard it to mean those posts used to string chain or rope in between in order to direct people standing in line for something.
