Hey Guys

Fairly new to walkthroughs in revit... however I was wondering were you able to open doors prior to entering a room, rather than walking straight through them?

Cheers

You would have to create a family type ahead of time that was already open. You can't animate them in Revit. You would have to bring it into 3DMAX (which is much faster for walkthroughs)

The informaiton is correct.
Revit does not have animation tools - it has a walkthrough tool.
I advise that you can use many other programs for such animation (apart from Max)
I am learning Modo and find that there seems to be no limits in terms of animation capabilities (so far) using Revit native geometry.
It is not a SketchUp type of learning curve, however, the toolset is awesome and you can get the results you want. You could also try Rhino or C4D or Artlantis Studio or Sketchup have a plug-in called Podium with an extension for animation in addition to rendering.
Don't expect to see Revit with animation tools and you won't be disappointed.
