Is it possible to purge items on Revit like Autocad in order to improve the speed of movement in 3d??
any help is much appreciated??

There s a Purge option in Revit but I'm not sure it will improve performance in 3D views, since purge is intended to get rid of elements that aren't being used, therefore aren't being "dragged" when rotating a 3D view. However, purge will make your file size smaller.
Regarding the 3D view speed, try turning off a few categories you don't need. For instance, turning off furniture when you are only looking at the shell of the building.
