Typically when a project is started, you create an existing topo and then use the 'Graded Region' tool to create a new topo for the proposed levels. This way you can get the Cut/Fill values.
But what if I have an existing topo and a proposed topo which hasn't been created with the 'Graded Region' tool. Is there any way to link this with the existing topo to get the cut/fills? Currently I am getting 0 values.
I don't think you can join the topos together and get what you want.
I would try it this way. Edit the sketch of your new topo and copyclip all of your points, then cancel editing. Then go and start a graded region and select your existing topo and then copy your points or don't. If you copy your points then just grab all of them when in sketch mode and delete them. You want to have the sketch empty. Then past, in same place, your points you copyclipped. Finish sketch and that should do it.
Try it. It should work. I haven't done it yet, but sounds right in theory.

Thanks Y, sounded great in theory, but Revit won't let you get past the copyclip stage, 'Cannot copy selection'.
Sorry, I thought that would work. Forgot you can't copy points. We should make this topic a wishlist.
Be able to select another cad file (new topo from your engineer) to use as the graded points and viola!
