Ken, you can export out to a DWG from Revit and then link into VIZ, but there are some issues.

There is a beta version of a VIZ 2005 plugin which has been designed to ease the link between an exported Revit model and VIZ 2005, note I said 2005.

Here (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=9639&highlight=viz+2005) is a link that may help.

This looks like it keeps coming up as an issue-do we really have to update earlier viz based products or can there be an export to earlier version as per rvt to autocad 2000 dwg. Could the factory look at this. Not everyone has SOM's budget.

BTW, my comments to Viz/Revit regarding the plug-in:

Dear Matt,

Thanks for sending me this. It works really well and is a Godsend. Thanks a bunch. I’m a bit beyond the requested 2-week turnaround on comments (got it 11/18), but here are a couple:

1) Exporting the Revit image with existing phase showing can (but not always) throw off the colors when it gets into VIZ.

2) A couple of times, and I haven’t been able to reproduce it, VIZ gave me all materials in a light blue color. Not only that, but ALL the VIZ material editor sample slots were the same light blue color, as though some reset had occurred to make that the default color.

3) I understand that VIZ cannot interpret Accurender’s procedural attributes beyond color, but I do wish VIZ was more user-friendly, the way Accurender is, about setting up and rationalizing clapboard and brick patterns, if you know what I mean.

I haven’t done a whole lot on this beta, as I originally had a window of time when I first emailed looking for the plug, but the window closed by the time I got it. I’ll send more comments, especially about the “light blue color” thing, if I can reproduce it.
