font question

Hi,

I've done a pretty picture in Photoshop, and I've added text with the Birch Std typeface layered on it.

Now that I've done a working drawing of the same project in Revit '09, I've gone to illustrate the same text, but this font isn't available in Revit.

How do I get this typeface to show up in Revit? Usually the fonts I've needed to use show up in both programs.

Make sure theyre in C:\Windows\Fonts

If its in there already, make a new text type in Revit (Select arial or whatever and hit Edit/New > Duplicate) and in the type properties select the font from the drop down.

I dont recall if PS reads from the Windows fonts or somewhere else. If it reads from the Windows ttf's it should be there already.

It's there in C:/Windows/Fonts. BirchStd is the typeface--OpenType. I had tried to set it up as a new text family, but BirchStd wasn't listed. Is OpenType a problem in Revit?

Other fonts are listed.

Is OpenType different than TTF? I may be wrong, but i believe only TrueType Fonts are useable...

After almost two weeks trying to get a way to use opentype fonts in revit, I finally found a decent (and freeware!) software to do the job.
The problem is that some opentype fonts have truetype outlines, and others (the problem ones) come with postscript outlines.
So, from cr8 software solutions (http://www.cr8software.net), you can get Type light (http://www.cr8software.net/typelight.html) that converts otf fonts with postscript outlines into TTF fonts.
