I am trying to make a Room tag that displays the room number and also displays the total number of chairs in a room (these are classrooms)

So far I have created a shared parameter called "Chair Count" and loaded it into all of my chair families. I have also created a new Room Tag family with the shared parameter "Chair Count" as a label below the room number.

The chair families & room tag have been loaded into the project, and I have created a room schedule that neatly tally's up the chairs (sorted by room).

What I can't seem to figure out is how to get my "Chair Count" tally to appear in new room tag. Is this not possible?

Thanks in advance.

At this point, calculated values cannot appear in tags. You can make a tag that displays a number that you input. What you can do is to make a schedule with an extra column with a parameter for "Chairs Total in Tag" (or whatever you'd like) next to the one that totals up the chairs. In the schedule, type in the number of chairs in the parameter field to match the one thats been calculated for you. This typed in value can then be displayed in the tag. But now its up to you to update these figures.

In the latest Subscription Bonus Pack, you got Conditional formatting, so you could then let Revit compared the 2 numbers, nad highlight the cells if the numbers don't match, to make it easier to check.

Another option...

Schedule Furniture - filter for chairs
Include Room Name/Number
Include Count parameter
Sort/Group by: Room Number
Uncheck: Itemize every Instances

Schedule reports the total chairs by room

Scott,
Thank you for your post, I think this is what I will end up doing.

Steve,
Good to hear from you! Thanks for the tip on the schedule, but I have already done that. (I think I learned it from you a few years ago when you trained our office!). BTW, I read RevitOpEd frequently. Keep up the good work.
