Is there a way to create a screen door in the same location as the main door but have them schedule and tagged with separate numbers?

You can try to create the screen door family without the opening profile and insert it in the same place as the main door.
That way it would be tagged separately.
For many situations, you can consider a shared family inside the main door.

the nested family doesn't seem to work - it tags both doors (screen and regular) as a single door number.

But if you do what you initially suggest, overlapping a regular door with a screen door that has no wall cut, that seems to work on the plans and on the schedule.

I had original thought that I'd 'trick' Revit by creating a generic model of the doors, and then converting the family type to 'door' - which worked, kind of. It would tag it as a door and show up in the door schedule, but it wouldn't link all the info on the schedule (such as the To Room and From Room information).

Thanks for the reply - this helps me out tremendously.

the nested family doesn't seem to work - it tags both doors (screen and regular) as a single door number.

If the screen family you are loading into the door family is shared, it works. To tag each one separatedely, just use the TAB key. To tag both as one, just hover without using TAB.

Hmm, okay, I will try that for giggles to see what I get - right now I have them as separate entities and that seemed to work a-okay with me for right now. However, knowing a 'more right' way of doing it would be beneficial :)

Thanks again
