Revit Export to Autocad 2007 formatting

Hi,
I'm using Revit Arch 2010 and Autocad 2007.

the building model is in revit. but we're doing out detailing in autocad.

I know there was a way to change the default export type to autocad 2007 instead of autocad 2010, but I can't remeber where that setting is.

Can someone point me in the right direction ?

I know it's barried somewhere in the settings.

Its the last screen in the export dialogue. Just hit export and wait for the Save As screen to come up.

Or... detail it in Revit. :)

beleive me. if it were my choice I'd be detailing in revit. I've become jaded towards clumbsy cumbersome autorad. haha

I know about changing it in that save window. but I know there's a place somewhere in the options to change it , so by default it'll give me autocad 2007 as the default. not autocad 2010

I'm 99.9999999% sure I used in in revit 2009 . I just can't find it in the new interface.

Just went looking for this in 2009 after swearing it was an option also. Unfortunately aside from looking slightly different the only changes in the export cad function is that AutoCAD 2007 was the default format in Revit 2009 and in Revit 2010 the default is AutoCAD 2010 format. I was hoping that Revit would atleast remember if I set it to export in a previous format but neither 2009 or 2010 remembers the format change from one export session to another.
Look like Aaron won dispite the 0.0000009% disadvantage early on. Dangit!

There is an option in AutoCAD that can be set to save files in various different formats. Maybe that is what we were thinking of when we were sure it was in there somewhere. hahaha

this was really bothering me so I re-installed revit 2007 and still couldn't find it.

I was enlightened by a marketing friend, who said they did this as a subtle encouragement to upgrade to autorad 2010 . I won't hold my breath on this happening at the firm I work at, as I know they've invested a fair bit of capital and time customizing their version of 2007.

I'm not sure this is worthy of the wishlist either :P

Well, remember that in 2008, 2009, and 2010 there was no new AutoCAD file format. They tend to make a new one every year, so prior to 2010 of course everything defaulted to 2007DWG.

FWIW, autoCAD/ACA 2010 is fantastic. Ours is fairly customized with tools and settings, but it was worth the upgrade.
