On our plans we want to show framed walls with a gray fill for the structure/core. Other materials in the wall type can typically stay whatever they are. This can be done no problem. My issue is that in our wall sections, we don't want to show the solid gray fill in that wall. If I override the graphics of that wall in the specific view to hide the cut pattern, all the cut patterns in that wall type are hidden, including gyp hatches, or rigid insulation, etc.
Is there a way to selectively hide certain fills in a wall type, without using masking regions or a detail component?

Nope. There is not. We created a line-based detail component that has the top and bottom stud tracks, and a masking region in it. You celect the bottom, and the the top of the wall, and you're done. Actually faster than a override process.

That's what I ended up doing...just using the C-stud detail...It works, but if you could just override it and then set that up in a view template, that would remove a few steps...

Would love to have separate core, substrate, and finish layer hatch overrides. I'm the same way about not showing our fire tape cut pattern in section views.
