I need to convert my ACAD 2009 down to Vector Works 2008 any thoughts on how to do this?

I don't know anything about Vector Works but would saving your dwg as a DXF file, and bringing it into Vector Works help?

You might look into DWG. Trueconvert. It's a free download.

According to the blurb, VectorWorks 2008 can open both .dwg and .dxf in 2007 and earlier versions.
