Scenario:
1. I want to select only the supply air diffusers from one view/level.

Problem:
1. I cannot select all instances because it will select all instances in the entire model.
2. I cannot filter because filter only does categories.

Solution:
1. If there is one I would like to know.
2. See title.

That is a great tip.
Thanks
However wouldn't it be nice to have these options (see images).
when you see them it just makes sense.

Jrobker,

That is exactly how both those options should work, and should of been that way since day one. It is amazing how some things go unnoticed and/or fall through the cracks at the factory. They must be really busy & understaffed, and just throwing things together and sending them out. I'm sure you've had days, weeks or months at your office where projects are going out half arsed because everyone is overworked.

Still, Autodesk, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, slow down, and take a look at your final product.

You now have the ability to select all instances of something in the entire project or the current view in the 2011 products. See the attached screen capture.
