This is by far the most annoying issue i have with 7! why is it that when I resize my section and press F2 (zoom Extent) it goes to the top right corner as if I have something else at the far bottom left??? ever since the upgrade from 6.1 every view and every crop is wrong! so when I have a few views on a sheet I end up with huge boxes... this is driving me crazy, what's the point of crop regions if they don't crop?

I've had the same issue, but only on one project so far, created in 6.x, and primarily on some camera views.

We logged this one with the Autodesk support team the other week.
They narrowed it down to a problem with Curtain walls/mullions, and is a bug that they will endevour to fix for the future.

Mullions, eh? Glad someone's getting to the bottom of this because it's annoying. I can't set up a section box in a perspective view on one project I'm working on because the section box is floating around over Newfoundland.

Eldad: rally race fan are you? Nascar's for people who don't know how to drive

So there is a light at the end of the tunnel :) I wonder how long before the fix?
metanoia: I used to rally here in Australia (Co driver) It's the best fun! but too expensive... maybe we can get an Autodesk rally sponsorship? :)

to a problem with Curtain walls/mullionsMakes sense in my case. Curtain walls are in the area of the camera views...

Nascar's for people who don't know how to drive Nascar is big up here. I did a poster for the redneck pool here, & among the crash photos I selected off the internet were two showing D. Ernhart slamming into the wall at Daytona in his final lap.

Got a lot of cold stares & pointed comments after that... Nobody even cared about the other crash photos in the poster...

Has this issue been addressed yet? I'm placing a callout view on a sheet and it's cropped correctly, but the view boundary itself is larger than the sheet...makes it a pain to place on the sheet and it's really just annoying as all get out. Is there something I can change in visibility graphics or elsewhere that will be a temporary fix?

PS - personally, I'd rather save money by sitting on a highway overpass and watching the traffic flow by than watch a bunch of souped up fords with Viagra decals drive around in a circle for a few hours. but that's just me...

Steve, this worked in sections but not in 3d or plan views, so we're half way there. We sent a cut down version of the file to support and with any luck might have some information back from the development team shortly.

Just for a record: I have NEVER EVER used a curtain wall in my life yet, and I have the same problem!

Worked for me! It's actually "Curtain System Grid Layout" and our plan and section views are working normally now.

Thanks for the help - only been using Revit for 2 weeks now and really flying apart minor hiccups like the one in this post...

Thanks to everyones help my crop regions are now working - but using Revit has already made me a bit lazy....
I was wondering if it is possible to off the curtain grid visibility in all the views at once, or do i have to select each view and turn off the curtain grid?

(Cool there's even a spell check!)

It won't help the lazyness problem, but if they are similar view types you can "apply view template" to each view and "apply automatically to new views of same type"

New thought...
Is it possible to increase the lineweight of the crop regions once they are placed on a sheet?

No - crop region linework is a system setting.

This issue is coming up again...and this time there is no "Curtain System Grid Layout" to turn off in the Visibility Graphics.
What is now!?!?!
