Courtyard Roof and Large Roof Problems

We have one person working on a large roof with a courtyard opening in the middle. Revit really does not like these apparently:

Anyone have any good ideas on how to model the attached roofs?

Just make your gaps wider... place a separate roof in the gap... and join the geometry of the two roofs. Your line will disappear as long as the roofs are aligned.

Although I can't see your file since I'm not on 2010. Based on your links and dduarte attachment... I'm thinking I would make the highest peaked section a 4 sided hip roof. then make the rest of the roof with gabled ends short of the hip roof. Then use the Join roof tool to join the open ends into the hip. And if quantifying area use a dormer opening to cut out the 4 sided hip underneath.
