View Full Version : Modifying Roof Slabs

Hopefully a quick question. I am running Revit 2010 and have placed a number of roof slabs. Some are on a rectangular building with sloping joists. I have used the modification tools to raise or lower one end to have the roof deck / insulation follow the slope of the joists. In other areas where I have flat joists and tapered insulation I have tried to use the "Modify Sub Elements". This produces a tapered "wing" slab. Is there a way to only modify the top of the slab to slope and leave the bottom of the slab flat.

As always thanks for any help you can provide.

Select "Variable" in the Roof "Structure".

If you have layers in your roof slab, you can set the top ones to be Variable. That said, if the bottom layer is not variable it will stay flat.

To set variable layers, just go to the properties of your roof slab and edit its structure.

To clarify what ckc.mike said. In the Roof Structure make one layer variable. Editing the points will make that layer vary.
