Is there a way in 2010 to still use the simple massing tools from 2009? (extrusion, blend, revolve..)

I find them more suitable for simple massing studies.

I noticed that if I paste a massing object that was created in 2009 into a 2010 project and then edit in place, I can still access the old tools..

Upgrading a 2009 Mass will give you the old tools, as will using Generic Models instead of Masses. They dont behave the same, but you can still Wall By/Roof by Face on them.

Sami i strongly suggest that you learn how do that in 2010. Even if we don't have a specific "extrusion" tool, massing (in the massing environement) in 2010 is a lot faster once you've learn the tools. And theyre not going anywhere ;-)

If you've already started a 2010 project (and therefore unable to upgrade from 2009) you can also link then bind a simple 2009 mass into a 2010 project. This will give you 2009 massing fucntionality.

As far as the 2010 massing tools, there's some interesting functionality. But IMO the ability to reiterate sketches ala 2009 massing without having to start over is a significant advantage compared to the 2010 massing.

thanks for all the replies, I just find simple extrusions with the ability to change its height in the element properties to be simpler process, mostly all I need to do is existing context buildings, or simple proposed massing.
