Hi all,

I know this is a pretty basic question. But i'm out of practice with my curtain wall editting/ creating.

I'm trying to have my curtain wall family align with my wall as follows.

the outside face of the backsection should line up with the outside face of the exterior sheathing.

I've made the exterior sheating the core boundary, as it's not the outermost layer of the wall. the insulation is.

I'm 99% sure that this is edited in the curtain wall family,
can someone point me in the right direction ?

What sort of curtain wall is this? I thought curtain walls were usually aluminum mullions and glass panels.

You can simply move the CW to align it.

yes, mullions and glass :D but at the sill/heads/jambs where it meets the non curtain wall, wall.

it's possible to align, but due to the shape of the building, there are many many segments to the walls, meaning many separate aligns.

just looking for the quickest most effective way to do it .

Hey I just proof read and realized I haven't explained it very well

It's not a floor to ceiling curtain wall.. we're using the curtain wall family as an infill window,

it's roughly 1000mm of standard wall, then the curtain wall, then back to normal wall.

Still playing with finding a solution.

You could adjust the Offset of the Mullion and Panel families (in their Type properties) so that the back of panel and front of mullion back box align with the Location Line of the curtainwall, and then place the curtainwall so its location line aligns with the face of sheathing of your main wall. If you've already placed all your curtainwalls, and want to avoid realigning, then just adjust the Mullion and Panel offsets to suit.

Yeah we just came up with that this morning. ( great minds think alike)

since it's the same offset all around the building, we're just going to keep using the existing curtain wall mullions and panels. and then adjust the families and reload.

in theory and with fingers crossed this will do it perfectly throughout the whole proj.
