there are alot of articles here that i have been reviewing....so, i may get a handle on it....i have the file with several custom patterns in it and have tried the acad converters (thats confusing as hell)....i think i can get what i need with the "notepad" option.....can i go to the file with all patterns listed,copy one pattern, paste beneath where i copied and minipulate?....i tried that once already but it wouldn't let me save

The file is by default Read-Only, thats why you cant save.
