section box not showing up

in my project i am trying to set up 3D views of each floor. unfortunately, the only view i can get to show up is the camera view. I have tried checking every possible combination of boxes in the View Properties Box (i.e. crop view visible, section box), and it still stays in a camera view. i also right clicked on the 3D View in the Project Browser and selected "Show Section Box" but all this does is bring up a tab menu named "Modify Section Box" which has nothing in it. And still, there is no visible section box.

It's probably something really obvious that I'm missing here, but any help would be appreciated!

Open the default 3d view using the little house icon at the top of the menu bar.

Once there go to view properties, scroll down the dialog, and check the "section box" selection.

Slide the section box boundaries to show the floor you want.

Duplicate the view, and slide the boundaries to show the next floor...

Once you get each view set up, right click on the 3D wheel at the top right of the view, and select save view from the drop-down menu.

Along with Andrew's explanation I'll state the 'obvious'... have you checked to see that the section box is checked as visible in the visibility and graphics settings for the view?

Yup, it was the only category unchecked in the Annotation Categories.

I figured it was something obvious. Thanks for the help guys!
