I don't know if this has already been addressed, but I found a bug and thought I'd share (I'm using 2010 Revit Architecture Service Update 2). I noticed that an imported HSS hollow structural column was not constraining to the base level I told it to. Went and checked the family and sure enough there were two extrusions (one for fine visibility and one for medium visibility) and the medium visibility extrusion was not locked to the reference level. After locking and re-importing it works fine now. Took me a while to discover the problem so I hope this helps others save time.
