I have been placing reveals at an angle on a exterior wall by modeling them in-place as a void sweep. Some work fine while others do not and display the following message: "Some Void Forms of this family do not cut anything and will be deleted. To make a Void Form cut something else use the Cut Geometry tool."

What does this message really mean? I cannot figure out why some of my reveals worked and some didn't.

I know there are several other methods to accomplish the same thing, but if possible, I would like to stay focused on modeling the reveals in-place.

I get this message a lot when I try to move a wall that has voids in-place cutting the wall. The only solution I've found is to unjoin the void from the wall... reposition the void and wall as needed... then cut the wall once again with the void geometry.

I don't usually get this error when creating an in-place void for the first time. You might have to seprate voids into separate in-place families.
