I am looking for the command that will do the following:
When I insert an xref or a block in a drawing, and I want to turn off everything outside of a container box, that contains just a portion of the block or xref, (or outside of several independent container boxes), how exactly do I do this? I've seen it done before, I just cannot figure it out.
This is for ADT 3.3 2000.
Best Regards,
Refugio

I think the command you are looking for is xclip.
That command has been about since at least Acad2000 so I believe it is in ADT 3.3 as well.
At the command prompt, enter xclip.
Select a an xref.
At the prompt, specify New Boundary by pressing ENTER.
Specify a rectangular or polygonal clipping boundary. Specify the corners or vertices of the boundary.
(Optional) Use the Invert Clip option to change the area to be hidden from outside to inside the clipping boundary. The xref is clipped based on the area that you specified and hides the portion of the xref either inside or outside the clipping boundary.

So I see you there all the time, are you paid for what you do?
Or how are the forums funded? The best source for questions about AutoCAD...!

Nah nobody gets paid, everyone on here is a volunteer.
AUGI is generally funded by sponsors and various events they hold, put together or organised by the board of directors. You can read more about how AUGI is run via the About AUGI link in the top right corner of your screen.
