Any suggestions on how to make the fireplace shown in the attached image? I can make the two lower portions using walls and cutting them with thin roofs and attaching the walls to the vroof.
The top part I am unable to do. I do an solid extrusion and try to cut it with a void. So far I have been unable to get the void to cut.
Are there some tutorials that would help with this?
Using Revit 2009
Thanks

Max.
Instead of walls and roofs, I´d make it as a seperate family, and load that into the project.
(Or at least an "in-place" family)
There´s quite a few ways to moddeling the geometry - And since I´m not in the mood to describe every step/aproach... I´ll just let the attached screenshots and the .rfa speak for themselfs.
Ok ok, the basics..... Make 3 Revolves, add a handful og Voids, dimension as required, and cook for aproximatly 1 hour
When done, you could choose to join the 3 revolves... I left them unjoined, so you can seperate them from each other....
Oh, and one last thing - upgrade to RAC2010 if you want the .rfa ;-)

Thanks. I will download 2010 to see if I can see how you did it. For some reason I am never able to get my voids to cut anything.

Are you using the cut geometry tool after you create the void?
